Pump driven machines, pros: great tasting coffee with crema, integrated frothing wand and other convenient features, cons: always more expensive, lots of parts and electronics makes them pron to fail or wear much faster than the two other types, brewing requires full attention and some technique, DeLonghi EC702 Espresso Maker needs priming too so this are not machines for people on the run.

I love this little machine! I purchased the first one in 2004 after reading excellent reviews on the “crema” quality. We’ve used DeLonghi EC5 Espresso and Cappuccino Maker everyday for the last 5 years and look forward to it every morning. I’m an Americano drinker and have found the way to get the strongest, smoothest flavor from DeLonghi EC5 Espresso and Cappuccino Maker is to pull a double shot, then add half an inch of boiling water, then cream. Delicious! Here in Seattle, I use local Lighthouse Roasters or Longbeach Roasters coffee beans at home. The freshness of these high quality coffees makes our home espresso drinks as good as we’d get at a cafe. The second machine I just bought today is for the office, where I’ve been spending way too much money running to the corner cafe for coffee in the afternoon. Since I purchased our first machine 5 years ago, the price of this unit has dropped by half (I paid $65 for the first one). I’m hoping the popularity of DeLonghi EC5 Espresso and Cappuccino Maker has allowed DeLonghi to drop the price and not the quality.

Desiring to try WiFi with a growing assortment of devices in the family and a three node network of old Mac desktops on a hard wired Ethernet, based on the reviews here on Amazon, I purchased the E3000/WET610N discount special. Opened the E3000 box, switched the jacks from my Linksys Etherfast Cable/DSL router to the E3000, ran the enclosed CD on my G5 PowerPC Mac running OSX 10.5.8, followed the directions and in about six minutes, our new WiFi system was up and running, connected hard wired to the existing three nodes, and talking WiFi to two iPOD Touches, and my grandson’s school furnished Apple laptop. Tomorrow I’ll add the WET610N and have my LG550
BluRay player on line downstairs on our living room 46″ Samsung for streaming videos.
Don’t understand the problems expressed in some of the earlier reviews.

Though it looks a little flimsy and the surface area of the adhesive piece is smaller than I would have liked, so far so good, it is holding.
It is much more convenient to have this tether than to have to take time to put the cap in a pocket.
Now clipping the cap to Zeikos ZE-LCH1 Lens Cap Keeper strap, I feel a little more secure with the tether being there as well.
Why Canon did not put a tether is beyond me.

We got this grill several months ago, and our son and I assembled it in about an hour, with no real trouble. It worked perfectly right from the start (I was always a charcoal grill person–Weber kettle–before this, with very little experience using a gas grill). It started fast and got up to about 550 degrees right away, and it was fairly easy to clean, except for the inclined drip catcher; but I probably overdid cleaning that (trying to get it back to mint condition). Even in 32-degree weather with the wind blowing on it, the grill heats up well for searing things. The key is that it is very solidly made, with first-rate materials and thoughtfully designed. Weber just plain knows what it is doing and doesn’t cut corners. That makes it worth the money.
