arthritis caused me to scale down the size of books or to wait for the paperback versions…until Kindle. that ‘plus’ is very specific for me but truly a blessing for someone who LOVES to read.
and then there is the ‘sample’ availability before buying a book, being able to buy full version right from the Kindle without interruption.
and the dictionary…oh, how I love to be able to look up any word at anytime.
and the print clearness, in sun light or lamp light, is profound.
Do buy the insurance for accident or failure (which would have taken care of many complaints under the 1-2 star reviews) though defaults are covered for 1 year and the one issue I had was taken care of quickly and accurately by Amazon customer service.
finally, there’s a plastic sheath you can buy, which I recommend, as the Kindle can be a slippery devil…though the added insurance will take care of 1 incident, it’s wise to also have a ‘better grip’ on it.
(btw, I’ve had my Kindle for a few months now.)
