I purchased this card to use with the new Panasonic ZS7 camera. As this is a Class 6 card, it supports every function of that camera including mjpeg movie format which requires a card of this speed. I buy Transcend cards exclusively and have never had a problem with any I have purchased. They make excellent products.

I asked my groomer about this and she had great things to say, so we decided to get one. It has been great! The price was really good also. We use it about once a week on our mix breed black lab who sheds contstantly – and our floors are really looking better. We used to have hair everywhere and it’s way less now. Hair used to fall off him while you were petting him and that barely happens now.

The groomer told me to use it really lightly when you brush and that it will take off hair as long as you keep using it. I try not to do it too long, but do every area pretty well once a week.

Try this if you have a heavy-shedder! It’s great!

Do you ever wonder if there is another world around you, like fairies? Well, that’s exactly what Artemis Fowl thought. Artemis, a twelve year old boy living in Ho Chi Minh City, is out to get one ton of twenty-four carat gold. This book is about the adventure he took. On his way, Artemis takes a book that contains all the secrets to the fairy world and tries to use it against them. He kidnaps a fairy named Holly, and holds her captive. To get her back, the LEPrecon Unit has to hand over the fairy gold he wants. The story continues to be a fight. The dangerous but sneaky fairy and the LEPrecon Unit fight back. They deal with trolls, magical books, five elfin warlocks, and above all a criminal master mind. This story will leave you wanting more.

We have mostly tile throughout the house. The living room, has carpet, and high traffic. We were dogsitting for a few days, and the dog, which is supposedly house-broken, made a mess on the carpet. Good thing we had this steam vac handy. It took out the mess and left no stains. Only gripe is that if you do not replace the reservoir properly after emptying out the dirty water, it will not operate properly. Took about 30 minutes to figure it out and get it right.

Like (probably) most folks who read this book, it was jammed down my throat as Required! Reading! in my Honors English class in High School (I guess they saved it for the Honors class because we were all Ivy-bound brilliants who wouldn’t be seduced into the gutter by all the naughty language and behavior depicted in the book).

Why?

Since when was rebellion for its own sake considered radical in the literary sense?

Reading this book was like getting stuck on the last commuter bus home next to a drunken, rambling teenager.

Its style may have been “radical” for its time, but it’s neither interesting nor particularly well-written. I have no idea why this is considered a “classic.”

To me, an example of a “classic” is something like Frank Herbert’s “Dune”–even though it was written back in the 60′s, before the lunar landing, it still remains an epic story in and of itself, even with the science fiction aspects removed. “Catcher” on the other hand is more of a period piece, and makes for boring reading, like most of the Bronte sisters’ works which we were also required to slog through (oooh, Edwardian social mores, and written by a WOMAN! How RADICAL and RELEVANT!! not….).

In short, this book for me sums up everything that’s wrong with the way that English-language literature is taught in school. No, we shouldn’t let kids read the funnies and the White Pages and call it literacy, but there has been enough new stuff in the past 40 years to push out some of the no-longer relevant stuff.

First I want to state that I only gave this book a star because I had to in order to post the review. Really I would give it no stars.
Walsch’s initial questions are very good questions and one’s that God wants to answer, and in fact already has. Unfortunately Walsch listened to the wrong voice, and it ultimately led him back to himself. Everybody wants to know why we exist, and why bad things happen to “good” people. The truth is God made man to be in relationship with Himself, but God will not force us to love Him, recieve His love, or obey Him. God created us with a will and will not violate that will.
God is a God of order, and has given us defined right and wrongs for our own good. He knows what ultimately produces life, and what produces death in our lives. Without defined right and wrongs you have utter chaos. There is a reason we have laws in America, policemen and judges to enforce those laws, and consequences for breaking those laws. Within a home you have boundaries and quidlines for your children, and they feel safe and loved because of those boundaries. In the same way the laws of a country are set up to protect it’s citizens, God’s laws are set up to protect us. Our feelings come and go; they are constantly changing. If we are basing right and wrong on that which is ever changing, we will never have anything to stand on. The word of God is unchanging and solid. It transcends religion, age, gender, and time.
God is also just and therefore must punish sin. Thankfully He sent His own Son to take the punishment for us. But if we refuse to accept His sacrifice on our behalf, we will have to bear the weight of God’s judgement. God is a God of love and mercy, and desires that none perish, but He is also righteous and holy. We cannot enter heaven carrying our sins. God has made a way for us, but only one way. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man can go to God except through Jesus. My prayer is that Walsch would have an encounter with

I was really interested to learn more about this time period in the South – we forget how recent this really is, and how much things have changed in 30 years. The characters are endearing. It was slow to get into, but once I did, I wanted to keep reading. Our book club members loved it and highly recommend it to others.
