Epson MovieMate 60 Portable Projector, DVD and music player combo

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I purchased Epson MovieMate 60 Portable Projector to use in my classroom a few weeks ago and have not been disappointed thus far. I love the ability to just stick a DVD in and it plays—no wires and cords strung between computers and speakers, etc. I have also used a homemade disc/slide show that won’t play on a DVD player with the TV…but played perfectly on the MovieMate. Our IT guy said it was the best picture he had ever seen from a machine so small. I have set it on the desk and projected to the opposite wall of a normal size classroom…and it fills the wall top to bottom and the picture is wonderful. Epson MovieMate 60 Portable Projector would work well in a larger or double classroom.

Epson P-7000 160GB Multimedia Storage Drive, Photo Viewer and Audio-Video Player w/ 4-Inch LCD

I bought this for a specific purpose. We were going to Hawaii, and I for once in my life didn’t have access to a laptop computer that I could use. My wife forced me to agree to not take a laptop so I couldn’t do work when I was on vacation. But, I take a lot of pictures, and needed a storage solution.

The Epson P3000 solved the problem. I also carried a USB2 160 GB 2.5 inch hard drive, and was able to make a second backup copy of all images on that, so I was never without 2 copies of every image.

I take D200/D300 RAW images, so they are large. And on longer trips (such as that trip to Kauai), I will take 5000 or 10000 images. In reality, the P3000 is too small for me, and on that first trip I took 48 GB of images, and the device could only hold 40GB of them. I had 4 8GB CF cards, so I was not at risk at that point, but for me, larger would have been better. But this was much cheaper than the P5000 available at the time, and I decided to save the bucks.

Epson MovieMate 72 720p 3LCD Home Theater

This is a wonderful all-in-one projector. Great intuitive controls, fantastic sound (especially with a subwoofer Epson’s), great picture quality with upconverting DVD player. For the first time, the image seems a bit ‘dark (lamp is rated 1200 + lumens), but we understand the brightness control on the distance, and is more than enough (four levels) for most situations. The enclosed CD. Manual answer our questions when we otherwise no-brainer guide. IDo not print this guide extended, but can get what I need to know my computer in rare cases where it is not clear from the beautiful design of this projector
