It is the best camera i have used so far; with the exception of low light picture quality. Zoom works great. If you are looking to take pictures outdoors or lighted areas this camera performs great. Video quality is superb, microphone worked excellent with great pick up, outdoor pictures turned excellent. Even with the zoom maxed during the shooting image quality was great. As far as low light performance; i am still going through 240 pages guide to find and adjust best shooting possibility to my taste. The built-in flash is great for close up pictures in the dark, i recommend an external flash if you are looking to do a lot of night shootings. Battery had great performance, it lasted me more than 500 pics and bunch of videos. The accesorries that came with it was basic but practical, there are available accessories to make that camera more fun and get more out of it. All above mentioned picture quality was the way i have downloaded it from camera. Camera comes with photo editing software disc too. If you are looking to do basic adjustments that software comes handy.

I was planning to get the white one at the beginning,but I got the black one since it was released first.Then when the white one came out I exchanged it.So I have the chance to try both.This has nothing to do do with performance but just obsevation when you compare the two colors:
a.You feel that the white one is bigger.I know they are identical in size but really you feel that because of the color effect.A disadvantage.
b.The white one is in fact 3 colors:Body is white,Lens cap and grip are silver, (shoulder strap ,lens cap string and hot shoe cover) surprisingly are black…These colors don’t fit together.But the black one has every thing in black…Which gives consistency in color.
c.When you look at the white one you (feel) it’s made of plastic…Again because of the color effect.But the black one you feel it’s strudy and well made.
d.I think all original accessories,like a view finder, are black color.So if you will buy any (especially a case since you will need one),they will match the black camera more.

chose the K-x over the K7 because of its low light performance(being half the price helps as well). I have read reveiws that state the K7 performs slightly worse than the k20 at high ISO levels. Being an owner of a k20, I can state that the K-x far out performs the k20 at ISO 1600. This camera is perfect for shooting pictures of people and settings where a flash would be considered intrusive. Its relatively fast focus speeds and hd video make this camera the perfect tool for capturing those special moments with my friends and family. I think you can get more candid shots when you don’t have a flash announcing that a camera is present. I still prefer my k20 for more formal photograpy where a “hands on” approach is desired, but for everyday use, and at this price, I think the k-x is hard to beat.

The ergonomics are intuitive for the K-7, but might throw some previous K20d users for a loop. Users coming from the K-2000 (K-m in foreign markets) should be able to adapt quickly, as it is very similar. One of the new design paradigms is quick access to everything through the info menu on the back. Also use the info button to disable the LCD (for those that do night shooting and get blinded by it). There is a direct ISO button now too, for those that didn’t know it was hidden under the OK button before. Typical of modern electronics there are several over-loaded button functions, so it pays to sit down with the manual and read over it, but overall it is intuitive. The screen often shows you what button to press (like a little symbol of the front e-dial is shown to change a particular setting using that dial). Similar to the K20d, but slightly different too. Be sure to download the latest firmware from Pentax for better use of the AF Select mode (for selecting your own autofocus point).

It’s clearly a huge mistake from Samsung about the SD/SDHC memory card supported, it’s not compatible. This little camera only uses microSD card. Technically, it’s all about space saver and compact but the microSD is expensive and it’s not handy cause its size. Again, this is not a big deal breaker for me since I download the file straight out from the camera without taking out the memory card. Well, if you’re a big fan of microSD then this is a must have! The battery life is good enough if you got it fully charged. It takes about 2 hours charging from AC adapter, you can charge it using the USB port on your computer too but it’s not efficient.

This is the best compact camera close to the $100 price tag. Includes tons of features that actually are useful and work! Camera has a very short ready time after each shot, even with flash. Great for consecutive quick shooting. Smart mode is finally really smart. Camera would automatically select the best configuration according to light and distance conditions, almost always. Face detection a lot better than Samsung SD420 (which I own too). Very light and good quality build. Metal frame feels great. Big and clear screen. 720p is good. Low light/low artificial lightning photos and videos turn out very good (or acceptable at least). That’s quite a feat. Remember this is a pocket sized camera (really small) with a wide angle lens, 720p video support and 12MP resolution pictures. Bundled with handy software for photo/video editing.

I never used white balance on previous cameras because it always worked lousy. Olympus has changed all of that. I recently did some shoots in rooms with different types of florescents. The auto white balance was dead on in all of them, even though the flourescents were different color temperatures. The auto white balance works equally well outdoors. Shooting under tungsten light or using flash, I would suggest changing from “auto” to the apropriate setting (either daylight or flash).

I’ve been playing with my a55 for two days now & I am terribly impressed by its accomplishments & innovative features (gps, image stabilization, lightweight & small footprint, PLUS CONTINUOUS AUTO-FOCUS DURING HD VIDEO RECORDING). Another set of features that I am terribly surprised to see being ACTUALLY USEFUL: Panorama & 10fps shooting mode. I couldn’t be more thankful to realize that I can save myself HOURS of pc-processing, by simply panning the A55 left to right (or top to bottom) while pressing the shutter button (continuously taking shots) & processsing (stitching) the pictures internally to give me the final shot practically on-the-fly (literally done in under 15 seconds). Yes, the panorama pictures are very decent (except when people are moving around, then u get blurry subjects) and very useful. The 10fps mode works ONLY if you have very good lighting outside (you can forget indoor shots, even if you have a f/1.4 lens). Granted the focus is fixed, but the feature actually works. I took some shots of my son playing basketball while keeping up with the focus spot, pointed at his face. What sucks is the post-processing & writing of your shots to the memory card. My class 6 sdhc was a TURTLE. I’m hoping that my soon-to-be-shipped 8gb SDXC will make a difference.

If you’re a newbie like me and can afford it, buy this one! Huge improvement over point-n-shoot, and for those of you who are like I was a few weeks ago, know this, that megapixels have zip to do with quality – it’s the size of the sensor, and this one has the best in this class. After searching and reading online endlessly to try to make the best educated decision I could, I decided it was between this one and the Canon Rebel EOS. Went into my local camera store to buy where I could get real expertise (not like at Best Buy), told the guy (who turned out to be incredibly knowledgeable) only that I wanted the Canon, for one of the features I liked best was the customizable self-timer (3 shots in a row) which the Sony doesn’t have (only 1 at a time like most). He then said I made a great choice, that there are only two cameras in that price range that are both best in class, that one and this Sony A33; I thought, wow, I had obviously done some good homework! He illustrated for me how when utilizing virtually anything on the Canon, including live view, the fps were very, very slow – I said no way! He then showed me how the Sony snaps 7 fps virtually no matter what, even with live view, and still fast with flash though I can’t recall if 7 or not.

Looks and feels nice, great zoom but, picture quality is bad…. 1 out of 3 pictures comes blurry…even if you move for a second after clicking you got a bad picture. Night time photos are worst. colors are changed in photos. outside photos come ok. Even with my old cyber shop i dont get blurry pics. I used sony cyber shot 7.2Mp for 3 years now and was better than this one…. i would say for $200 you can get better camera.

I’ve been using Excel for years and never had a problem with it before, but with this version, Excel 2007 on a new Dell desktop and Windows 7, it is constantly crashing, as in “Excel is not responding.” And I am not doing anything extremely complicated.
