Pros: Great picture quality out of the box, super slim bezel, SmartTV apps are good but somewhat limited.
Cons: It should have come with built-in WIFI.

I didn’t buy Samsung’s expensive LinkStick, instead got a Asus WL-330GE working as a wifi adapter(it’s 4-in-1 router/repeater etc.) which is working out great for me: cheap, light weight, and can be powered by USB.

I.just got my set today,so this only an impression based on 2-3 hours of playing with this masterpiece,the picture is really superb,wither your watching in your room with light turned-off,or in an open area with many sources of light,once you turn the set on,setup start’s automatically,then everything goes smooth,including the update,didn’t have much time yet,so nothing to tell other than the ultra clear and rich picture.

I was confused by all of the refresh rates and things that aren’t a part of tube television. As you all can see, this TV is at 60Hz instead of 120Hz or even upwards of 600Hz. Is this problematic? Absolutely not! After conducting research, I found out that all signals in North America coming into your television are at 60Hz. Even Blu-Ray is coming in a 1080p 60Hz, which is exactly what this TV is – 1080p 60Hz. Why 120Hz and higher? I’ll answer this in two ways. Number 1: Why does car wax smell good? The car can’t smell it. The smell doesn’t improve the car wax. Many times over, companies add in features that make the customer feel as though they need it, simply in order to charge more money for the product. Microsoft is notorious for this with their Office suites. Number 2: In the early days of LCD/LED/Plasma technology, there was an issue processing the signal coming in, that ended up in a sometimes un-smooth signal or “judder”. Since then, this technology has been fixed and we no longer experience this problem, but in the meantime companies decided to make TV’s at twice the refresh rate in order to insert frames – not make the picture better, but make it smoother – and sometimes ends up in the picture looking too smooth. You know what I’m talking about when you’ve looked at a new TV and thought, “People don’t move like that…this is weird…” Absolutely not an issue with this TV – everything looks natural.

This is a high-quality TV from Samsung in full HD, with deep and rich colours, at a glorious price. You’ll love it!

Samsung LN46D550 Black Friday

This TV has finally saved me from months of going insane with LCD’s. A few months I tried a philips 40 inch 1080 LCD and a samsung LCD and both of them drove me nuts. Nothing ever fit entirely on the screen, if you adjusted it you’d see that no matter what something was lost on the sides. Nothing was ever consistent, they acted like they had minds of their own, you could never predict the picture quality. Sometimes blue would be blue, sometimes it would be suspiciously different. Movement was the same, sometimes it looked normal, sometimes it didn’t. They were both just one giant mess of inconsistencies that drove me nuts. When I bought this I had finally given up and just decided to get anything cheap that worked and now realize that I should have bought this to begin with. It’s perfect. It looks and acts just like a TV is supposed to. No surprises, no inconsistencies. If you watch something twice, it will look the same twice and movement will all be the same as well. I would never buy a LCD again and for a plasma this one is perfect for me.

I got this tv because I don’t want cable and wanted to be able to watch tv shows thru the internet. This was easy to set up, hooked right up to my wireless network with the wireless adapter (purchased separately). It has great picture quality, the sound has to be up around 40 to hear when there is other noise in the house (kids playing).

The smarthub is cool, but I can’t figure out how to personalize it to get rid of some of the recommendations such as espn. Other than that, it is nice to easily access netflix and hulu. Unfortunately not all of hulu’s programming can be watched via the tv. However this is easily remedied by hooking your pc to the tv and stream it thru an hdmi cable.

My only complaint is the web browser is clunky and I cannot figure out how to surf the web thru the tv. It seems to only want to search youtube or facebook. Still messing around with this feature…

Other than that, this is a great tv for the price!!!

Samsung UN40D6000 Black Friday

We’ve had the tv for about 2 months now and overall we are very happy. I’ll break my review into sections:

Paul’s TV – 5 Stars – We ordered from Paul’s TV fulfilled through Amazon so 2-day shipping was free with Prime Membership. Ordered it on a Sunday and had it on Tuesday or Wednesday. Very happy!

Ease of Assembly – 5 Stars – Two of us had it together in just a few minutes. Just an aside, I love the swivel stand. Turns just enough to get rid of any glare that comes in from the two windows in the room.

Picture Quality – 5 Stars – No cable here, and even with just an antennae, it looks great. I didn’t like the picture settings so I went to CNET’s forums and used a combination of some recommended settings. Got rid of the soap opera effect and love the picture.

Samsung TV Apps – 3.5 Stars – For me, Netflix is the most important app and it works quite well. I’ve noticed that it works better when I run a cable into the LAN port instead of using the wireless. It’s close enough to my router so that’s no big deal. I’ve also used Pandora, Hulu Plus, You Tube, etc. and they work well. My biggest concern is that Samsung has their own app store and that probably means it won’t get as much attention as it would if they partnered with Google. Time will tell.

Built In Web Browser – 2.5 stars – We knew this wasn’t going to compare to a browser on a computer and we were right. It’s functional but a bit inconsistent with response time to load pages and videos. We have some newspaper sites saved as favorites and it works fine to do basic surfing. We also bought the qwerty remote for an extra $100 and that’s nice to have.

I did a lot of research before I decided to purchase the Canon T1i. All that research paid off. I love this camera. This is my first DSLR and I have to say, for someone who is just used to point and shoots this camera is really easy to use and did not scare me like some cameras i’ve seen. Yea there are a lot of features, but Im slowing learning, messing with each setting, figuring it out. But for someone that didnt have any experience on a DSLR before I was able to take some great first shots! Right now i’ve just got the Kit lens, but am looking forward to purchasing a telephoto lens so I can get some great close shots! A in my book. I looked into getting one of the panasonic micro four third systems, but when I put it in my hands, it felt way to small… like i would break it. I was hoping it would fit like a glove cause i have small hands. But when I held the Canon T1i, it didn’t feel large, it felt sturdy, good. Like i knew it wouldn’t go anywhere. The LCD screen on the back in AWSOME! super bright! the controls are easy to use and its comfortable to hold. Anyone looking to get a DSLR and you are beginner this camera is the way to go! Plus being able to have Live view and HD movie are awsome features too! this camera to me had everything for an inexpensive price compared to a lot of camera i was looking at. Way to go canon!

Canon EOS Rebel T1i Best Price

Fantastic purchase! If you’re reading this, then you’ve probably already seen the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the camera. My review is more about having purchased it from Amazon. I bought the camera before Thanksgiving and paid around $850 plus tax. Included in that price was a Canon telephoto zoom lens which normally retailed for $100. From Black Friday through the Christmas shopping season, I kept a lookout for different sales to see if anyone would offer the same deal for less. Although the price did come down to $800 in a few stores, NONE of them threw in the telephoto lens. I love Amazon!

Love this camera. Takes excellent pictures and I love that it has a movie mode that can be used with manual focus. I was debating between this product and the Canon XSi and I learned that this camera is like the laptop compaired to the XSi as the old desktop. This is the newest product but is fantastic. Love the menu they put on this camera and the lens that comes with the kit is a pretty good quality lens. EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
