Okay so i decided after reading the reviews that I would take my chances and get this tv using my christmas money from my grandparents for my college dorm room. The volume is fine. I watch use my playstation 3 to watch netflix, play video games, and watch dvds. I can honestly say that I have never had the volume above 30. I can hear perfectly fine and for video games i have to turn it down to around 17 so that the whole house doesn’t hear me shooting monsters. The quality on this television is great, and no the volume might not be enough for your giant living room but it is perfect for a smaller room such as a bedroom or kitchen

I like out-of-way places and this is the perfect hiking camera for me. It has been a travel companion for a year and 13,000 exposures now.
I have none of the problems listed by the dissatisfied customers. Yes you can get better results from a camera that costs ten times more and weighs ten times more. One “professional” whines that the ZS7 does not focus well in inadequate light. Well, I don’t know of any camera that works in inadequate light. With only so many photons to go around, there is nothing Panasonic can do to supersede the laws of physics. When you attempt to make handheld exposures in the dark, something has to give. The ZS7 provides exposure control, not miracles. So steady the camera, use less sensitive ISO settings, and leave the shutter open longer. The resulting images will be consistently sharp and clear. The ZS7 makes it easy to do this, if you really want the pictures. If you just want to complain, find a more credible topic.
If you want to publish your photos in NatGeo, get a 5 pound camera $10,000 of lenses helicopter. While the pros are lugging gear and setting up, I’ll be moving on to the spectacular sites they can’t get to. And here’s the money: The ZS7 costs much less than just the 1st year’s depreciation of a dSLR. So be bold. Put it in a freezer jar and swim behind that waterfall. Take it skiing and climbing. You’ll barely notice the load.

I just replaced my trusty ZS3 with the new ZS7 and, so far, I am very pleased with this camera. The output is much cleaner and smoother than the ZS3′s, much more refined. Compared to the ZS7, the ZS3 produced images that look brittle and over-processed. As with virtually all small-sensor cameras, the ZS7′s images are a little noisy (even at base ISO) if you look close enough. But noise is far less objectionable than ragged edges and smeared details, which is what I usually got from the ZS3. The images I’m getting from the ZS7 look surprisingly good even at 100% on-screen enlargement; whereas the ZS3′s output was virtually unusable at this magnification. The improvement is dramatic. Considering that the ZS7′s resolution has also increased from 10 to 12 MP (it’s actually a 14 MP sensor that is masked to create different aspect ratios), I’d say that Panasonic has done a really good job here.
The ZS7 improves on the ZS3 in several ways; but for me the most important new feature is Picture Adjustments, which let you turn down the amount of sharpening and noise reduction that are automatically applied to every image. Photographers who do their own post-processing will appreciate the ability to apply their own preferred methods of sharpening and noise reduction.
The next most important new feature (imho) is the addition of aperture/shutter-priority shooting modes. There isn’t much latitude for adjusting the f-stop in most small-sensor cameras because of defraction effects; but it’s great to be able to control the shutter speed manually.

I recently updated my DSLR collection to the Nikon D3100 from the Nikon D70. There are good reviews out there that you should check out. However, I would like to share some of my first impressions.
Pro:
-Better image quality and lower noise at high ISO with the D3100
-MUCH MUCH lighter, which will be nice when traveling
-Larger LCD screen
-11 focus points, including 3D focus which tracks the motion of the subject or camera.
-1080p Video
-14 megapixels
-2nd Generation DSLR
-Quiet, quiet, quiet
Cons:
-No bracketing option. Not a huge deal since I only bracket once a year
-Cannot use my old 50mm 1.8 lens. I knew this before purchasing the camera.
-As of 10/1/2010, Camera RAW for the D3100 is not supported in Photoshop or Lightroom. Need to shoot .jpg RAW or use Nikon Capture NX2 for RAW files. That should be updated soon, so not a big deal.
-Can hear the lens focusing when recording video.
-No depth of field preview.
-Can’t use wireless remote
I’m an amateur photographer and this camera meets my needs. I love the fact that it’s small and light, with great quality images. If I were a serious photographer and had more money to spare, I would wait and check out the D7000, which appears to have phenomenal specs. I’m happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this camera.

This is probably not the right camera for someone who is an uber-photography hobyist. This is the right camera for someone who enjoys photography and wants to step up from a quality point and shoot digital pocket camera.
I wanted an SLR because I wanted to improve the photos I was taking of my 18 month old daughter. My Canon SD750 pocket camera takes great photos, but not the same quality as an SLR would.
The D3000 is great because it has an auto mode that essentially turns it into a point and shoot camera. There is no shutter lag and – with the right memory card – you can hit continuous shoot to take 3 shots per second. (This is ideal for shots of my daughter going down a slide or kicking a ball in the backyard.)
If you end up “getting into” photography and want to futz with the settings, this camera has everything you could need. 11 point multi-focus and fancy light metering will keep anyone busy. That said, you can also just leave it in auto and it will take phenominal photos.
One of the best features is the “?” button. On any screen, you can push the “?” button to get a quick description of what the different setting options will do. For example, when selecting a manual metering mode, it will tell you the difference between multimetering and spotmetering.

In April of 2004, I bought my first DSLR, the Nikon D70. I paid $1299.99 for the D70 and 18-70 kit lens. I loved the D70 – it was good enough that I could resist the D80, D200, etc. I spent my money on lenses instead. Then along came the D7000. I was nervous about jumping before DP Review has given their full report, but trusted Nikon and couldn’t resist the specs. Well, after several hundred shots I’m resting easy: this is an absolutely fantastic camera.
If you’re like me coming from the D70, the D7000 is a step forward by every objective and subjective measure. I’m especially pleased with the D7000′s new sensor. Two and half times the resolution changed the way I frame shots. I can pull back a bit during sports shooting to leave room for alignment corrections that eat up pixels at the edges. Unlike the D70, ISO 1600 is quite usable and ISO 3200 viable. I’m actually using Auto-ISO now, a feature I switched off in the D70 since I couldn’t stand the noise.
The back panel display is also a sight to behold. With 7 times the resolution of the D70, the display is beautiful, bright and good enough to weed out poor shots on site.

It has been quite a while since I purchased my first digital camera and I was a bit concerned I may end up with a bum product. I performed a few weeks of research getting up to date on the brands, models, and technology. After seeing so many positive reviews, other websites too, I decided to purchase. This camera met my requirements and the price was excellent.
Since purchasing this camera I know it was the right choice for me. Pictures are excellent, though not front page national geographic type quality, its what you expect for the price. I would use this camera on vacation trips and important events. Its features were easy to figure out w/o having to dig through the manual. I enjoy the different types of shooting styles and ease of switching between them.
Overall, I would say if you need a great camera for shooting photos of your kids on the beach, wanna update the FB album, or just to catch a few snapshots on a trip this is an ideal camera and a great price.

Great Camera. If you are new to the DSLR game (like myself) or you are upgrading and you can fork up the cash, it is definitely worth it. It has a very concise, simple, and easy to use interface, the buttons are very well placed, and the swivel LCD is very nice and useful in certain situations (I really like how it folds inwards to protect the screen). My main purpose for this camera is still photos so the video is a cool bonus and is surprisingly better than I thought (though if you are looking to do serious HD video, I’d go for an HD camcorder or something else instead).
The D5000 is essentially a D90 squeezed into a smaller lighter body (of course it lacks the internal AF motor, doesn’t have as good a grip, and has a slightly smaller pentamirror viewfinder instead of the pentaprism in the D90 – all of this amongst a few other things, but hey it’s cheaper for a reason – also it is mentionable that the D5000 has an additional live view mode, a few more in camera editing tools, and more scene modes compared to the D90 – all useful for someone new to the DSLR in the sense that you can learn from them or just use them to make your life easier and your photos look great).
So far I love it. It is simple to use and great for those new to the DSLR realm, but it also packs enough punch for those looking to upgrade and will give newcomers much room to learn and grow with it.
